    Women's Hockey Assistant Coach
Matt Rieger joined the Cougars as an assistant coach prior to the 2020-21 season after spending the 2019-20 campaign as a skills coach with the team. A longtime minor hockey coach, Rieger also serves as head coach for the U15 Regina Pat Blues of the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League.

Rieger's playing career included a pair of seasons with the Regina Pat Canadians and significant time at the Junior A level with the Kindersley Klippers, Lloydminster Blazers, and Yorkton Terriers. He was named Yorkton's most improved player and the team's playoff MVP during his time with the Terriers.

Rieger attended the U of R for three years and currently works in the Regina Police Service's School Resource Program. He is married with three children, daughters Chelsea and Katie and son Connor.
