Barry Leibel began working with the University of Regina's women's volleyball program as an assistant coach prior to the 2017-18 season.
Leibel has been involved with coaching volleyball in various age categories for the past 16 years. He coached at the high school level for 12 seasons before joining the Cougars, including from 2008 to 2016 at Campbell Collegiate. Under his guidance, Tartan teams won two provincial championships, three provincial silver medals, and five city championships. Leibel coached current Cougar players Claire Douglas, Jessica Lerminiaux, and Sierra Parris-Kruger while at Campbell.
A certified Level 3 coach, Leibel was also involved at the club level for 16 seasons as an assistant coach and as a head coach. He won numerous club provincial medals, including most recently coaching the Cougar Volleyball Club's U18 team to a provincial championship in 2017.
