The University of Regina's women's soccer team fell to 0-4-2 on the year after being shut out by a 4-0 score by the Saskatchewan Huskies on Sunday afternoon.
The Huskies' Sarah Laverty opened up the scoring in the 33rd minute, and the score remained 1-0 at the half. Saskatchewan goals by Kristy Husulak and Elizabeth Hudon three minutes apart early in the second half effectively put the game out of reach. Andrea Cessna scored the game's final goal in the 72nd minute to put the Huskies up by four.
Linsay Barbier made nine saves for the Cougars. Saskatchewan's Kailee Marland made four saves to secure the shutout.
Sunday's game will be available for viewing on Max Local on Demand (Channel 48 for SaskTel subscribers) beginning on Wednesday or Thursday.
Next weekend, the Cougars will travel to British Columbia to take on Trinity Western and Fraser Valley. The U of R returns home the following weekend and will play host to Victoria (Oct. 4) and UBC (Oct. 5).
