The University of Regina's women's soccer team was defeated 9-0 by the Trinity Western Spartans on Friday night in a Canada West match at Spartan Field.

Daniela Gerig scored five goals to lead the Spartans. Dana DuMerton, Nikki Wright, Chantelle Whitehead, and Kayleen Davidson also scored for Trinity Western.

Veronika Rogina made three saves to earn the shutout for the Spartans. Regina's Linsay Barbier faced 33 Trinity Western shots and made 15 saves.

The Cougars (0-5-2) will play Fraser Valley (1-3-1) tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. in Abbotsford, B.C.
