The University of Regina's women's soccer team was defeated by a score of 7-1 by the Fraser Valley Cascades on Saturday afternoon in a Canada West game at Bateman Park.
Kristen Vanderpauw scored four goals to lead the Cascades, with Ellen Kuyer, Kristina Habbas, and Stephanie Bekei each chipping in with singles.
Tegan Koroluk scored Regina's lone goal just three minutes into the second half, cutting the UFV lead to 3-1, but the Cougars couldn't draw any closer.
Chantelle Biagioni recorded the win for UFV, while
Linsay Barbier took the loss for the Cougars. UFV outshot Regina by a 14-5 margin during the match.
The Cougars return home next weekend and will square off with Victoria on Saturday and UBC on Sunday. Both games are scheduled to kick off at noon at the U of R Field.
