University of Regina third-year guard Jeff Lukomski poured in 33 points on Saturday night as the Cougars scored an 88-82 road win over the Manitoba Bisons in a Canada West men's basketball game in Winnipeg.

All of Lukomski's 33 points came on three-pointers, as he was 11-for-19 from beyond the arc. His 11 three-pointers are a career high and are also thought to be a University of Regina single-game record.

The win gives the Cougars the weekend sweep and improves their record to 8-6 on the season. Regina remains in the Great Plains Division lead and are two games ahead of Brandon (6-8), who squeaked out a one-point victory over Winnipeg on Saturday night.

Four other Cougars also hit double digits in points, including Jamal Williams (15), Marek Downarowicz (14), Kris Heshka (10), and Paul Schubach (10). Heshka added a game-high 12 rebounds and Schubach had a career-high 14 assists as both players registered double-doubles for Regina.

Nathan Dixon (24 points) and Chris Pereira (23) led the Bisons.

The Cougars return home next weekend for games against Alberta and Saskatchewan at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

NOTES: Saturday marked the second time in his career that Lukomski has exceeded the 30-point barrier … Lukomski scored 39 points against the Winnipeg Wesmen on Nov. 10, 2007.
