Marley Walker's first two goals of the season helped the Lethbridge Pronghorns to a 3-1 victory over the Regina Cougars on Saturday afternoon in a Canada West game at the U of R Field.

Walker, a second-year forward, opened the scoring in the 14th minute after getting a pass from Erika Sollid and driving a shot past Regina goalkeeper Linsay Barbier from the left side of the 18-yard box. Sollid extended the lead to two just five minutes later, capitalizing on a turnover in front of the Cougar net to score her first of the season.

Natalia Hernandez-Solano got the Cougars on the scoreboard just before halftime, as the fifth-year forward scored following a nice cross from Maddie Sonea.

Walker's second goal of the game came in the 76th minute, giving the Pronghorns a 3-1 lead that they would hang on to for the remainder of the contest.

Ashley Cowen made three saves to secure the win for Lethbridge, while Barbier made five saves for the Cougars.

Lethbridge will travel to Winnipeg for a game against Manitoba tomorrow, while the Cougars will finish off their 2009 season at home against Calgary on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
