The University of Regina's men's basketball team lost 70-54 to Lethbridge on Saturday night game in a Canada West game in which four of the Cougars' five starters fouled out of the contest.
The Cougars trailed by as little as five points midway through the fourth quarter, but
Jordan McFarlen,
Kris Heshka,
Paul Schubach, and
Jamal Williams all fouled out in the final frame.
Jeff Price led Lethbridge with 23 points and seven assists, while Rob Cooper had 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the Pronghorns.
Heshka led the Cougars in rebounds (10), points (9), and blocks (5).
Sterling Nostedt came off the bench to score nine points for Regina.
The win improves Lethbridge's record to 1-3, while the Cougars fall to 1-1 on the year.
The Cougars return home next weekend to host Simon Fraser (1-0) and Trinity Western (0-1) in their home openers.
NOTES: Jeff Lukomski played at cornerback for the U of R's football team in Saskatoon on Saturday afternoon, then caught a flight to Lethbridge (via Calgary) … the fourth-year guard arrived for the second quarter and ended up with two points in 17 minutes on the floor.
