Cascades score 2-0 win over Cougars

The University of Regina's women's soccer team opened up its two-match road swing on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to Fraser Valley at Bateman Park in Abbotsford, B.C.

After a scoreless first half, the Cascades' Ellen Kuyer notched her fifth goal of the season in the 49th minute. Roxanne Snook extended Fraser Valley's lead to two goals just nine minutes later, scoring on a header with an assist to Megan Webster.

Chantelle Biagioni recorded the clean sheet for Fraser Valley, but was only called upon to make one save. Michelle Anderson made nine saves for the Cougars.

The Cascades (3-1-0) fired 16 shots at Regina's net, while the Cougars (1-4-0) had four shot attempts.

The Cougars will be back in action on Sunday afternoon against No. 3-ranked Victoria (3-1-0).
