First-year midfielder Molly Glass scored the game-winning goal with a bullet of a drive from outside the box in injury time, giving the University of Regina's women's soccer team a weekend sweep over the Manitoba Bisons with a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon.

With just minutes left before the final whistle, Glass unloaded from about 22 yards out to score her first career CIS goal in grand fashion.

“It was an absolute cracker of a goal,” Cougars head coach Bob Maltman said. “It was great to see that goal go in and the celebration on the bench was awesome. It's a great end to a season which saw us accomplish a lot of the goals we set out for ourselves at the beginning of the year.”

The win caps off the Cougars' most successful season in history, as they finish with 5-7-2 record which shatters the program's single-season records in both wins and points.

Michelle Anderson was spectacular in the net for the Cougars once again, making seven saves to secure her second consecutive shutout and her fourth of the season, which sets a U of R single-season record. Anderson's seven saves didn't include a Manitoba penalty kick in the 30th minute, which Sarah Haiko sent wide of the net.

Maltman expects to return almost every player – with the exception of fifth-year defender Catherine Lukan – to the 2011 roster as the Cougars will look to continue their ascension up the Canada West ladder.
