Box Score The University of Regina's men's basketball team lost 82-75 to Simon Fraser on Friday night in Game 2 of their best-of-three Canada West quarterfinal series in Burnaby, B.C. The series is now tied at one game apiece.
The Cougars trailed by as many as 18 points early in the fourth quarter, but went on a huge 19-4 run to cut the lead to just three. Regina had a chance to tie the game with a
Jeff Lukomski three-pointer with a minute left, but it didn't fall and Simon Fraser was able to hang on for the win.
Kevin Shaw was 4-for-8 from three-point land and ended up with a team-high 20 points for Simon Fraser. Matt Kuzminski had 14 for the Clan, while Kevin Pribilsky came off the bench to score ten.
Lukomski led all players with 21 points, while
Jamal Williams had 17 points and ten rebounds to score the game's lone double-double and
Kris Heshka chipped in with 11.
Darius Mole had ten points in 17 minutes off the bench for the Cougars.
The teams will now play a third and deciding game on Saturday afternoon at SFU. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. PST.
