Maryse Reichgeld's goal in the 50th minute stood as the game winner as the University of Victoria scored a 1-0 win over the Regina Cougars on Sunday afternoon at Centennial Stadium in Victoria.

Reichgeld took a through ball from Emma Greig, broke away from a Cougar defender and fired a shot from the top of the box that beat Regina goalkeeper Michelle Anderson for her third goal of the 2011 campaign.

The victory puts Victoria (5-4-3) in fourth place in the conference standings with 18 points, while the Cougars drop to 1-8-1 following the defeat.

Stephanie Parker made four saves to secure the shutout for Victoria, while Anderson matched her with four saves for Regina.

The Cougars – who were mathematically eliminated from the Canada West postseason with the loss – will play their final two home matches of the season next weekend on Saturday (Lethbridge) and Sunday (Calgary) at noon.
