Big second half gives UBC 6-0 win over Cougars

The University of Regina's women's soccer team gave up four goals in the second half and lost 6-0 to the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday night at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver.

The loss is the second straight setback for the Cougars after opening the Canada West schedule with four consecutive wins. Now exactly halfway through the conference schedule, the U of R (4-2-0) sits in sixth place in the Canada West standings.

Janine Frazao scored four of UBC's six goals, while Kelly Cook and Kim Van Duynhoven both added singles for the Thunderbirds. Alyssa Williamson made three saves for UBC while recording a clean sheet. UBC improves to 6-1-0 with the win and sits in third place in the conference standings with 18 points.

Kacey McFee made four saves for the Cougars, while Meagan Cormier and Molly Glass each had two shot attempts.

The Cougars will now have four consecutive home matches, starting next weekend when they'll host Fraser Valley (5-1-1) on Saturday and Victoria (6-0-1) on Sunday. Both matches will kick off at noon at the U of R Field.
