The University of Regina's women's soccer team was shut out by a 4-0 score by the Victoria Vikes on Friday night in Victoria.
The game was scoreless until just before the conclusion of the first half when Lindsay Hoetzel got the Vikes on the board. Emma Greig extended Victoria's lead four minutes into the second half, and Sarah Douglas and Jackie Harrison added late insurance goals for the Vikes.
Making her ninth consecutive start for the Cougars,
Kacey McFee was peppered with 20 shots on net but saved 14 of them. The U of R had six shots on net, but Victoria goalkeeper Tanya Jones stopped all of them to notch a clean sheet.
The Cougars (4-5-1) are back in action on Saturday night against Fraser Valley (3-4-2) and can clinch a postseason berth with a win over the Cascades. The match will be played in Chilliwack, B.C. with a 7:00 p.m. (PDT) kickoff.
