The No. 5-ranked Saskatchewan Huskies men's basketball team took control early and cruised to victory over the University of Regina for the second night in a row in an 85-69 win on Saturday at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Matt Forbes led Saskatchewan (6-0) with a double-double, ending up with a game-high 17 points and also leading all players with 10 rebounds. Dadrian Collins and Andrew Henry both had 14 points, with Collins adding nine rebounds and Stephon Lamar ending up with 13 points and eight assists.

Brandon Tull (pictured) came off the bench to lead the Cougars with 14 points in 20 minutes played.

Saskatchewan gave up the game's opening bucket, but the visitors then scored 18 of the next 23 points to take an 11-point lead with three minutes remaining in the first quarter. The Huskies outscored Regina by a 24-13 margin in the opening quarter and 21-11 in the second to take a big 23-point lead into the halftime break. Forbes' play in the second half helped prevent any thoughts of a Cougar comeback, as the third-year post had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Huskies in the final two quarters alone.

The Huskies move into sole possession of first place in the Prairie Division with the win, overtaking Alberta as the Golden Bears fell to Brandon on Saturday night for their first loss of the season. Saskatchewan returns home to host Trinity Western and Fraser Valley next weekend.

Regina (1-5) also had 10 points in 11 minutes played from Addison Docherty, as the fifth-year guard came off the bench and went 3-for-5 from three-point range. Ryan Delwo added eight points for the Cougars, while Travis Sylvestre chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds. The Cougars hit the road for two consecutive weekends starting next Friday at Mount Royal and Saturday at UNBC.
