The University of Regina women's soccer team is to travel west this weekend for a pair of matches against the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns.
The Cougars split a pair of games last weekend as they opened up their home schedule, losing 1-0 to Alberta on Sunday before defeating Mount Royal 6-1 on Sunday.
Â
The Cougars look to carry momentum from their record-setting performance against MRU, where they broke the school record for goals in a game.
Kayla McDonald netted a pair in the win, and Veronica Boesch, Nikita Senko, Molly Glass and Karlee Vorrieter (pitcured)Â also scored.
Boesch and McDonald lead the Cougars with two goals apiece on the season. Boesch also has two assists, which puts her in a tie for sixth in the conference with six points.
With their 2-2-0 record, the Cougars sit in fourth place in the Prairies Division standings heading into the weekend.
Lethbridge (0-3-1) is still searching for its first win of the season, but has played strong soccer recently, including a scoreless tie against the defending Canada West Champion Alberta Pandas.
The Pronghorns dropped a pair of home games last weekend, losing 2-0 to Calgary and 1-0 to MacEwan.
Regina topped Lethbridge 2-1 in the only match between the two teams last season.
Both matches are set for noon kick-offs.
