Cougars, Pronghorns battle to scoreless tie

The University of Regina Women's soccer team played the Lethbridge Pronghorns to a scoreless draw in Canada West action on Saturday afternoon.

The visiting Cougars tallied nine shots on net, but Pronghorns goalkeeper Micaela Stone stopped all of them in her first action of the season.

Adriana McCullough and Sarah Moroziuk each had a pair of shots on net as they both came on as second-half substitutions.

Cougars keeper Kacey McFee made six stops in the match.

Lethbridge almost found the net in the ninth minute, but a shot that beat McFee was deflected wide by a Cougar defender.

Midfielders Kayla McDonald, Molly Glass and Karlee Vorrieter, and defender Racquel Marshall (pitcured) were the only Cougar outfielders to play the full 90 minutes.

The Cougars move to 2-2-1 with the tie. Lethbridge goes to 0-3-2.

The teams are to square off again on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for noon.
