The University of Regina men's hockey team surrendered four goals in the second period en route to a 6-1 loss against the UBC Thunderbirds in Vancouver on Saturday.
Nick Buonassisi scored twice for UBC, which got goals from Kyle Becker, Austin Vetteri, David Robinson and Luke Lockhart.
Cody Fowlie (pictured) scored his second of the season for the Cougars.
Buonassisi, who scored scored on Friday as well, netted goals in the first and second periods on Saturday. Robinson, Becker and Lockhart also scored in the middle frame, putting the game out of reach before Fowlie's unassisted marker late in the second got the Cougars on the board.
Andy Desautels got the start in net for the Cougars, stopping 22 of the 28 shots that he faced. Eric Williams was stellar in net for UBC, stopping 34 shots to earn the victory.
The Cougars are in Calgary next weekend to take on the Dinos for a pair of games.
