The University of Regina's women's basketball team fell by a 108-97 count to Minot State on Sunday night in an exhibition game that needed overtime to settle.
And it almost didn't need the extra frame, as MSU's Kari Clements banked in a three-pointer from well beyond the arc with four seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 93-93. It was all Beavers in overtime, as Minot State outscored Regina by a 15-4 margin to coast to an 11-point victory.
Charlotte Kot was dominant down low with a big double-double for the Cougars, going 10-for-11 from the field while leading all players in both points (26) and rebounds (12).
Alyssia Kajati also had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while
Katie Polischuk scored 18 points and
Kehlsie Crone added 15.
Alex Haley led Minot State with 20 points.
The game was the final tune-up for the Cougars before the Canada West schedule begins this weekend. They'll travel to Brandon to play an improving Bobcats squad on Friday night and Saturday night at BU's Healthy Living Centre.
