The University of Regina's women's volleyball team ran into a tough Trinity Western squad on Friday night, losing in straight sets to the No. 2-ranked Spartans at the Langley Events Centre.
Trinity Western improves to 7-0 on the season after taking the opening two sets by twin 25-14 scores, then clinching the win with a 25-12 victory in the third set.
TWU's Elizabeth Wendel and Sophie Carpentier both ended up in double digits for kills, with Wendel finishing with a match-high 12 and Carpentier putting down 10 while leading all players with five service aces.
Tori Glynn led the U of R with five kills in the loss.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday night in Langley (5:00 PST,
canadawest.tv).
