The University of Regina's women's volleyball team was defeated in three sets by the Winnipeg Wesmen on Saturday afternoon in Winnipeg, falling by scores of 25-17, 25-18, and 25-17.

Alexandra Rose and Tia Boroski both had eight kills to lead the Wesmen, who improve to 6-10 with the victory. Sonia Rossy had 13 digs, while setter Jayme Menzies had 28 assists.

Diana Lumbala (pictured) came off the bench to lead the Cougars with a season-high nine kills.

Taylor Ungar collected a match-high 16 digs.

The Cougars now prepare for four consecutive home matches starting next weekend against Thompson Rivers (Jan. 22/23). They're at home against Alberta on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30 before finishing off the Canada West schedule with away matches against MacEwan (Feb. 5/6) and Saskatchewan (Feb. 19/20).
