With plenty on the line this weekend, the University of Regina's men's basketball team is back at home to host the Victoria Vikes on Friday and Saturday at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Start time for both nights is set for 8 p.m. following the conclusion of the women's game.

Coming off of two road losses at Manitoba, the Cougars (8-6) now sit alone in sixth place in the Pioneer Division – and with the top seven teams to advance to the postseason, they'll still need to put together a solid finish to the Canada West schedule to nail down a playoff spot.

The Cougars could actually clinch their first postseason berth since the 2010-11 season this weekend, but would need to sweep the Vikes in addition to getting some help on the out-of-town scoreboard in the form of a Brandon road win over Saskatchewan.

The situation is just as dire for Victoria, as the Vikes (7-9) have only two games remaining on the conference schedule following this weekend's games against Regina – but fortunately for the Vikes, those games are at home against a Brandon team which is currently tied for last in the division at 1-13. Victoria enters the weekend just outside of the playoff race in eighth place, but just a half game back of seventh-place Alberta.
