The University of Regina women's soccer team is off to the west coast this weekend for Pacific Division matchups against Trinity Western University and the University of the Fraser Valley.
The Cougars (0-5-5) head on their final road trip of the regular season, still searching for their first win of the campaign. TWU enters the weekend at 8-2-0 and UFV sits at 4-4-2. Regina battled to a 1-1 draw with Saskatchewan in a rare Thursday match at the U of R Field last week, but closed out the weekend with a 1-0 loss to the Huskies on Saturday in Saskatoon.
Regina comes into the weekend seven points out of the final Canada West playoff spot, so they'll need to make some noise out on the west coast to gain on sixth-place Manitoba.
Sally Bachmann still leads the Cougars with three goals scored, while
Brianna Wright,
Lauren Petras,
Kyra Vibert and
Kirsten Finley each have one to their credit. Wright has also chipped in with four assists. Rachel Hutchinson leads TWU with six goals while Amanda Carruthers and Gurneet Dhaliwal each have three for UFV.
Ashton Lowry continues to be the go-to keeper for the Cougars with
Savannah Williams out, posting a 2.06 goals-against average and .702 save percentage in seven starts. Christina Oliverio has made eight starts for TWU and Emily Harold has made nine for Fraser Valley.
Regina has never won a match against Trinity Western, and sports a 3-6-3 all-time record against UFV.
