Cougars look to get back on track against Pronghorns

The University of Regina women's hockey team looks to get back on the winning road this weekend, with a road matchup against the Lethbridge Pronghorns.

The Cougars and Pronghorns enter the weekend with similar records, as the Cougars sit at 5-6-1-0, while the Pronghorns sit at 4-6-1-1. Both teams have struggled of late, as the Cougars enter the weekend on a five-game losing streak while the Pronghorns have lost three games in a row.

Catching up with the Cougars                                                                      
The Cougars were defeated twice by the Calgary Dinos last weekend, falling 1-0 in both games in Regina. Jane Kish started both games, making a combined 24 saves on 26 shots between the two games.

Bailey Braden and Jaycee Magwood sit four points off the top of the Canada West scoring race, as both have registered four goals and three assists. Jordan Kulbida is tied for the lead in the Canada West rookie scoring race with six points.

Jane Kish has won four games in eight starts, posting a 1.60 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage. Morgan Baker has won one game in four starts, with a 3.51 GAA and a .891 save percentage.

Pronghorn Preview
The Pronghorns last action came on the road against the Manitoba Bisons, where the Pronghorns lost both games of the series 1-0 and 2-1. Tricia Van Vaerenbergh leads the team with five points, registering three goals and two assists. Alli Borrow, Katelyn Breitkreuz, and Jodi Gentile are right behind her with four points each.

Alicia Anderson has started all twelve games, registering four wins. Anderson has been solid this season, registering a 1.43 GAA and is second in Canada West with a .962 save percentage.

The History
Regina took three of four from Lethbridge last season. The all-time series between the two is tilted in the Cougars' favour, as they have won 45 of 65 regular season contests.
