TEAM OVERVIEWS
REGINA – The Cougars are finally finished with their 10-game road trip to start the season. They travelled to Montreal, Waterloo, and Kamloops for their eight non-conference games, and last weekend kicked off the Canada West schedule with a road split against Manitoba. The Bisons won 83-74 on Friday, but Alex Igual's long two-pointer with 2.1 seconds left gave the Cougars an 89-87 win over Manitoba on Saturday. The Cougars were a respectable 5-5 in those 10 games away from Regina with wins over York, Waterloo, Thompson Rivers, and UBC Okanagan in addition to the Saturday thriller over the Bisons.

FRASER VALLEY – The Cascades played only two non-conference games against U SPORTS opposition, losing a pair of games to Victoria last month in Abbotsford. UFV currently holds a 1-3 Canada West record after being trounced twice by UBC on the road, but bouncing back for a home split against Mount Royal last weekend. Vick Toor's 17 points helped UFV to an 86-80 win over MRU on Friday, but Mount Royal replied in a big way with an 88-59 blowout win on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Because of a Canada West scheduling quirk, Regina and Fraser Valley will be meeting for the first time since UFV took an 84-71 road win over the Cougars back on Jan. 31, 2014. The Cascades have won three consecutive games over the Cougars and have a 5-4 edge in the all-time series, with Regina's last wins over UFV coming during a road sweep during the 2010-11 season. In a sport where home-court advantage is often significant, this series is a bit of an aberration – the road team is 6-3 in games involving these two teams.
