The University of Regina's women's volleyball team suffered road losses to UBC on Friday and Saturday at the War Memorial Gym in Vancouver as the Cougars fall to 3-19 on the season.

Friday: UBC 3, Regina 0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-11)
UBC opened the match by hitting .517 as a team in a dominating 25-8 first-set victory and never looked back, winning the next two sets by scores of 25-13 and 25-11 to cruise to its 15th Canada West victory of the season.

Danielle Brisebois led UBC with 11 kills and hit .474 in the win. Backup setter Olivia Furlan came in for the final two sets and had 25 assists, while Juliana Kaufmanis added eight kills and Maggie Li led all players at the net with five blocks.

Haley Wagar led the Cougars with four kills.

Saturday: UBC 3, Regina 0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-12)
UBC scored its second straight-sets win over the Cougars in as many nights on Saturday. The Thunderbirds rolled to a 25-16 win in the first set, but the U of R came back with its best effort of the weekend in the second. Though the Cougars eventually fell short by a 25-23 score, the set featured 12 tie scores and seven lead changes and the Thunderbirds had to rattle off three consecutive points off a UBC timeout after the U of R had gone up 23-22.

UBC took control of the third set with 10 straight points leading up to the technical timeout and clinched the match with a 25-12 win.

Brisebois had 12 kills to lead all players for the second night in a row and also had a match-high eight digs, while Alessandra Gentile dished out 29 assists.

Jenna Krahn had a team-leading six kills for the U of R.

The Cougars will finish off their 2016-17 season next weekend with road matches against Calgary on Friday and Saturday.
