The University of Regina's women's basketball team is back at home this weekend for a best-of-three Canada West quarterfinal series against Trinity Western beginning Thursday at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
Game 2 is scheduled for Friday night and if a third and deciding game is needed, it'll be played Saturday. All games have a scheduled 7 p.m. start time.
Ranked No. 3 in this week's U SPORTS Top Ten, Regina was one of four Canada West teams to earn a bye through the first round of the playoffs. The Cougars finished with a 17-3 conference record and earned the No. 2 seed in the Canada West playoffs thanks to their RPI, which was the second highest in the league. The winner of the Regina/Trinity Western series will advance to the Canada West Final Four, which would be hosted by Saskatchewan if the No. 1-seeded Huskies defeat No. 8 seed Fraser Valley in their quarterfinal series this weekend in Saskatoon.
The other two quarterfinal series feature Winnipeg hosting Victoria and UBC playing at Alberta.
