HEADLINES
• Friday's game will be the only meeting of the regular season between the Rams and the Huskies, making it a critical Week 5 matchup for both teams.

• Both teams will be keeping a wary eye on the out-of-town scoreboard. Manitoba could improve to 2-3 with a home victory over winless Alberta, and a Calgary road win over UBC would move the Thunderbirds to 3-2 on the season. The Rams/Huskies winner will be 3-2 after the game, and the loser will sit at 2-3.

• The Rams will be looking for their first win in Saskatoon since Marc Mueller, Kolten Solomon, and Michael Kiapway led the Rams to a 35-26 win back in 2012.

AGAINST THE HUSKIES: The teams split the season series last year, with Saskatchewan outlasting the Rams for a 41-39 Week 1 overtime win in Saskatoon but the Rams replying with a 37-29 victory in Week 5 that was the first game ever played at the new Mosaic Stadium. Saskatchewan has a 23-7 advantage in the 30 Canada West games played between the two teams, though the Rams have a 3-2 edge in five postseason contests. Saskatchewan has enjoyed a big home-field advantage in this series, with the Huskies winning 12 of 14 conference games over the Rams at Griffiths. The Rams will be looking for their first win over the Huskies in Saskatoon since 2012.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS, CHAPTER FOUR: QB Noah Picton moved from fifth to third on Canada West's all-time passing list last week and now trails only a pair of former Rams in the category. He now has 8658 career passing yards, just 142 behind second-place Darryl Leason and 791 behind first-place Teale Orban. Leason accumulated 3913 of his yards during two seasons with the Rams and the rest with the University of Calgary. Picton is also third in conference history with 618 pass completions, which trails second-place Billy Greene by just nine and all-time leader Orban by 67.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS, CHAPTER SIX: SB Mitchell Picton - that's Noah's first cousin - had another big game last week, collecting nine catches for 136 yards as he now leads Canada West with 29 receptions and ranks third in the conference with 411 receiving yards. Picton is tied with Jason Clermont for second in school history with 19 touchdown catches, ranks fourth in the U of R record book with 145 career receptions, and is also fourth with 2081 receiving yards.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS, CHAPTER 36: Already the University of Regina's all-time leader with 18 rushing touchdowns, RB Atlee Simon is closing in on the school's career record for touchdowns scored overall. He's currently tied for second in U of R history with Neal Hughes with 24 touchdowns scored and is just two behind Jason Clermont's record of 26. Simon is also closing in on 3000 career all-purpose yards with 2888 coming into Friday's game, which ranks second in school history behind Hughes' impressive five-season total of 5667.

INJURY WARD: The Rams were missing four starters due to injuries in last week's game against Manitoba, including OL Andrew Becker, DL Nicholas Dheilly, DB Jeff Propp, and WR Mitch Thompson. Becker isn't expected back this year, and though the Rams consider Dheilly, Propp, and Thompson all doubtful for Friday they expect to get them back at some point this season. OL Bowen Pisula had started all four games for the Rams, but was injured last week and won't play against the Huskies. On the positive side, the Rams expect to have OL Roe Borgmann and DB Taylor Mayer return to the lineup on Friday.

BORSA LEADS RETURN UNIT: Rookie RB Kyle Borsa returned seven punts for a total of 74 yards last game, helping lift him into the team lead with 428 all-purpose yards this season. Only one year removed from starring at Michael A. Riffel HS in Regina, Borsa is the team's primary return man and has recorded 200 kickoff return yards, 139 punt return yards, 62 receiving yards, and 27 rushing yards this season. Though he's in his first year with the Rams, he's no stranger to the program - his father, Cory Borsa, was a four-year member of the Rams in the 1990s and won back-to-back national junior championships with the program in 1993 and 1994.
