QUICKLY
  • Paige Hubbard scored twice in the span of 79 seconds in the second period to give the University of Regina's women's hockey team the lead, but Calgary scored three unanswered goals in the third period and ended up with a 4-2 win on Saturday afternoon in Calgary.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sydney Mercier opened the scoring for Calgary with the lone goal of the first period.
  • Hubbard scored with the Cougars on the power play in the second, collecting a rebound in the slot and snapping it past Dinos goalie Gabriella Durante.

  • The Cougars held on to the 2-1 lead until near the midway mark of the third period when Mercier tied it up. Mercier completed the hat trick with the game-winning goal four minutes later, and Rebecca Clarke added an insurance marker for the Dinos in the late going.
  • Shaylee Scraba scored a late goal for the Cougars after chopping in a rebound from in tight, but with only 18 seconds remaining in regulation.
