Jade Belmore hit the 30-point mark for the third time in her U SPORTS career as the University of Regina's women's basketball team sailed to a 77-48 win over Thompson Rivers on Friday night in Kamloops, B.C.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cougars led 18-13 after the first quarter and 32-24 at halftime, but they pulled away for good after the break.
• Regina went on a 14-2 run in the third quarter that featured a pair of triples by Belmore and another by Maddy Seida. That outburst gave the Cougars a 48-28 lead and they only extended that in the fourth, going on a 17-3 run to put an exclamation mark on the victory.

NOTES

• Belmore's 30 points came off 10-of-17 shooting. She was 3-for-5 from three-point range and hit 7 of her 10 free throws.
• Seida and Rachel Vanderhooft both added 12 points. Vanderhooft was an efficient 6-for-9 from the field.
• Belmore and Seida both had a team-high seven rebounds. The Cougars (1-2) owned a 56-29 advantage on the boards on Friday.
