Women's Soccer
The Cougars played headed to Calgary over the weekend to take on Mount Royal and the University of Calgary.

Saturday's match against Mount Royal was a 3-0 loss. The Cougars generated 11 shots (8 on goal) but were unable to find the back of the net. Goalkeeper
Peyton Magnuson had 8 saves in net.

On Sunday vs Calgary, the game was scoreless after the first half, but Calgary scored two goals in under four minutes early in the second to put it away. Magnuson had another 8 saves in the contest.

The Cougars head into a bye week over the Thanksgiving weekend, before finishing their season with a home-and-home against Saskatchewan on Oct. 17
th and Oct. 18
th.
Women's Basketball
The Cougars continued their pre-season with a non-conference matchup against the visiting UBCO Heat on Friday.
Â
The Heat held a slim 15-14 lead after the first quarter, but the Cougars took control in the second, outscoring the visitors 19-8 to take a 10 point lead into halftime. The lead was cut to just four midway through the 3
rd, but the Cougars pulled away and ultimately won 67-53.

Lilly Vande Graaf led all scorers with 14 points and also added 9 rebounds.
Eden Wells led all players with 6 assists in the contest.

The Cougars continue their preseason schedule on next weekend, as they head to Calgary to take on Thompson Rivers and Trinity Western.
Women's Volleyball
The Cougars Women's Volleyball team headed to Ottawa over the weekend to take part in the Gee-Gees Preseason Classic, where they played 5 games in 3 days to wrap up their preseason competition.

They began the tournament with losses to Montreal and Saint Mary's on Friday. However, the team bounced back on Saturday and took down both Waterloo and Toronto Metropolitan to finish 3
rd in their pool.

In the 5
th place game on Sunday, the team lost a hard-fought battle against the host Gee-Gees, winning the first set 27-25 before losing 25-20, 25-21, and 25-22 in the following three sets.

The Cougars have the Thanksgiving weekend off before kicking off their Canada West campaign at home vs Winnipeg on Friday, Oct. 17
th and Saturday, Oct. 18
th.

Women's Hockey
The Cougars began their 2025-26 campaign with a home weekend against the University of Calgary.
Â
Friday's matchup was a defensive battle. The visiting Dinos scored with 10:29 remaining in the 1
st period and that turned out to be the only goal in the entire contest.

Tessa Stewart,
Kaitlyn Gilroy,
Makena Kushniruk, and
Quinn McLaren all had 4 shots for the Cougars.
Amy Swayze had 24 saves in her first career start for the Cougars.

Saturday's game started off similar to the first game, as the teams were notched at 0-0 atter the first, but
Tessa Stewart scored with an assist from
Callie Hilhorst to open the scoring for the Cougars.

Pippy Pritchard and
Cassidy Peters added empty netters in the 3
rd to cap off the 3-0 victory.

Swayze was sensational in net, stopping 31 shots in her first career Canada West shutout.

The Cougars head to Winnipeg next weekend for a pair of games against the Manitoba Bisons.

Men's Basketball
The Cougars began continued their preseason schedule by hosting the Cougar Classic.
Â
On Thursday, the Cougars fell 83-62 to the University of Winnipeg Wesmen.
Â
Lodie Kenyi led the Cougars with 13 points and added 6 steals. In total, eleven different players scored for the Cougars.
Â
The Cougars played Brandon the following night and held off a late surge by the Bobcats for an 87-82 victory.
Â
Kenyi led the Cougars in scoring once again with 14, while
Isaiah Bay (12) and
Sufyan Elkannan (11) also had double digits.
Â
The Cougars head out east next weekend for a pair of exhibition matches against Wilfred Laurier and Toronto Metropolitan.
Men's Hockey
The Cougars began their Canada West schedule on the road against the University of Calgary.
Â
On Friday, the Cougars lost 7-2.
Jackson Doucet and Turner MicMilen were the goal scorers for the Cougars and
Justen Maric had 32 saves in net.

On Saturday, the Cougars fell 9-2.
Carson Whyte and
Jaxon Steele were the goal scorers, while
Blake Heward and
Jackson Doucet had assists.

The Cougars will look to bounce back next weekend, where they will host Manitoba on Friday, Oct. 10
th and Saturday, Oct. 11
th.

Cross Country
The Women's and Men's cross-country teams continued their season with the Canada West Challenge in Calgary, AB.

Three Cougar athletes finished in the top 10.
