The University of Regina's women's hockey team has announced a new partnership with Avana.
Avana, a Regina-based organization, supports housing and community initiatives across Saskatchewan. The partnership brings together two organizations with a shared interest in leadership, community engagement, and supporting student-athletes.
"This partnership represents so much more than a logo on a helmet," said Cougars head coach
Brandy West-McMaster. "Avana shares our belief that sport has the power to develop confident leaders, strengthen communities, and inspire the next generation. We are incredibly grateful for their investment in our student-athletes and their commitment to growing women's hockey in Saskatchewan."
As part of the partnership, the Cougars and Avana plan to collaborate on a range of community initiatives throughout the coming year. Planned activities include youth hockey events, school and community visits, player appearances, mentorship opportunities, and other community-based projects.
The partnership also includes Avana's presence at all U of R women's hockey home games and collaborative digital content featuring Cougar student-athletes.
The Cougars welcome Avana as the team's major partner and look forward to working together to support student-athletes and community initiatives.
