UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2010-11: Started all 18 Canada West matches at outside hitter for the Cougars and played in all 63 sets ... tied for second on the team with 158 kills and was third on the Cougars with 154 digs ... averaged 2.51 digs per set and hit for a .106 percentage ... tied her career high with 14 kills at Manitoba (Nov. 5) and against Trinity Western (Nov. 13) ... had a career-high 19 digs against Brandon (Jan. 29) ... had three double-doubles during the conference schedule ... had a team-high total of 15 kills during the postseason and added 13 digs.

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2009-10: Named an Academic All-Canadian ... played in 75 of the team’s 76 sets and started 19 of 20 matches at outside hitter ... finished third on the team in kills (154), kills per set (2.05), digs (203), and digs per set (2.71) ... had a .111 hitting percentage ... had 14 kills against UBC (Jan. 8) and at Winnipeg (Feb. 6) ... had seven kills, no errors, and a .583 hitting percentage against Simon Fraser (Jan. 24) ... finished second on the team in digs (84), third in kills (59), and first in service aces (11) in the U of R's seven postseason matches.

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2008-09: Named an Academic All-Canadian ... appeared in nine sets over four matches for the Cougars during the regular season ... was credited with three digs and one assist ... made her CIS debut on Oct. 18 against Manitoba ... played in three sets over the team's two Canada West quarterfinal matches and had one dig.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Marianne and David Hughes ... is enrolled at Luther Science and majoring in biochemistry ... has three brothers (Jon, Geoff, and Matt) ... full name is Kaitlyn Elizabeth Brianna Hughes ... a 2008 graduate of Campbell Collegiate in Regina ... won a city championship and a provincial silver medal with the Tartans in 2007 ... served as team captain in her Grade 12 season ... was a two-time member of the RHSAA All-Star Team ... played with current U of R teammate Solveig Nilson and former Cougar Kaitlin Zalinko at Campbell ... played with the Regina Cougar Radz Volleyball Club from 2004 to 2008 ... captained the Radz to a provincial championship in 2008 ... helped Team Saskatchewan to a sixth-place finish at the 2009 Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward Island ... also represented Saskatchewan at the 2007 Western Canada Summer Games in Strathcona County, Alta.
