9/18/2008 1:33:23 PM

For the second consecutive weekend, the University of Regina's women's soccer team will hit the road for a pair of Canada West games. The Cougars will play Alberta (1-2-1) on Saturday and Saskatchewan (1-2-1) on Sunday.

Regina is coming off of a pair of one-goal losses to the No. 6-ranked Manitoba Bisons. The Cougars were edged 1-0 on Saturday and lost 2-1 on Sunday. Stacey Wilson scored the U of R's lone goal of the weekend, finishing a Tegan Koroluk corner kick with a nice header in the second half of Sunday's game.

Michelle Anderson continued her stellar play at goalkeeper for Regina, recording a total of 21 saves over the two games against the Bisons.

“I've been extremely pleased with our ability to play in a controlled manner when we're under pressure,” head coach Bob Maltman said. “We've shown we are able to compete with the teams in this league and I am looking forward to two good matches this weekend.”

Sunday's game against Saskatchewan will be televised on Max Local on Demand. The game will be available on Channel 48 for SaskTel subscribers beginning on Wednesday.

After this weekend, Regina will hit the road once again for games against Trinity Western and Fraser Valley. The Cougars' next home games will be on Oct. 4 (Victoria) and Oct. 5 (British Columbia).
