The Saskatchewan Roughriders selected University of Regina Rams slotback
Jordan Sisco in the second round (8th overall) of the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft on Sunday.
Sisco, a two-time Canada West all-star, led the conference with 52 catches and finished third with 700 receiving yards last season. One of just three U of R players to record at least 2000 career receiving yards, Sisco is currently attending the Indianapolis Colts' training camp.
“Jordan has been outstanding during his four years here,” Rams head coach
Frank McCrystal said. “He's pretty excited to have been drafted by his hometown team.”
Sisco also holds the school's single-game receiving yards record (228 vs. Alberta on Oct. 13, 2007) and ranks second on the U of R's all-time list with 141 receptions.
The selection of Sisco marks the second consecutive year that Saskatchewan has taken a U of R player in the second round. Last year, the Roughriders drafted cornerback
Tamon George with their second pick.
The Rams have now had 20 players selected in the 11 years since they joined the CIS.
