GAME HEADLINES
•  The Rams come into Saturday's contest riding a four-game winning streak overall and have won seven consecutive games over UBC, though that includes two games from the 2011 season that were originally T-Bird wins but overturned due to UBC's use of an ineligible player
•  The last time UBC defeated Regina was on Sept. 29, 2006, when the Thunderbirds took a 60-48 victory over the Rams in a game that will never be remembered as a defensive struggle
•  The Rams can mathematically clinch their seventh consecutive Canada West postseason berth with a victory on Saturday, while a win for UBC would pull them into a tie for fourth in the conference standings if Manitoba defeats Saskatchewan on Friday night
•  After suffering a shoulder injury against Manitoba in Week 5, Rams QB Marc Mueller - the CIS leader in completions - is considered doubtful for Saturday's game with Zach Oleynik expected to start in his place
•  The U of R's pass defence has been spectacular this season, as the Rams rank second in the conference in passing yards allowed per game (258.2) and lead the entire CIS with 13 interceptions
•  Led by RB Brandon Deschamps and scrambling QB Billy Greene, UBC leads Canada West in both rushing yards per game (250.2) and yards per rush (7.8).
TEAM PREVIEW: #7 REGINA (4-1)
Winners of four consecutive games after starting the Canada West schedule with a loss to Calgary, the Rams can mathematically clinch a postseason berth and solidify their hold on second place in the conference standings with a victory over UBC on Saturday.
But if the Rams want to move to 5-1 on the season, they'll likely have to do so without starting quarterback Marc Mueller, who was injured on the first play of the team's game-winning drive at the end of the Week 5 victory over Manitoba.
If Mueller is unable to go, the starting duties will fall to Zach Oleynik. A converted slotback, Oleynik started five Canada West games under centre for the Rams last season and completed 55.6% of his attempts, accumulated 1187 passing yards, and threw eight touchdown passes.
Oleynik would have a wealth of talented receivers to throw to, including Jared Janotta and Kolten Solomon. Janotta ranks second in Canada West with 32 catches and has a team-high 357 receiving yards, while Solomon has 25 receptions for 351 yards and leads the Rams with four touchdown catches. Jay Smith (21 catches, 282 yards) and Catlin Schneider (19 catches, 207 yards) are also enjoying breakout seasons for the U of R.
The Rams' running game has mostly concentrated on Michael Kiapway this season, but Dillon Dawson stepped up late in Week 5 against Manitoba and ended the game with eight rushes for 66 yards – all of which came in the fourth quarter.
The Rams' defence has been led by the backfield, as the U of R leads the nation with 13 interceptions as a team. Only four players across the CIS have recorded four interceptions and the Rams have two of them, as both Kirby Kezama and Jamir Walker have picked off opposing quarterbacks on four occasions.
TEAM PREVIEW: UBC (1-4)
With a 1-4 record but just one win out of fourth place in the Canada West standings, UBC enters the final three games of the conference schedule likely needing victories in two of those contests to qualify for the postseason.
The Thunderbirds notched their first victory of the 2012 campaign before the bye week, taking a 29-10 decision over winless Alberta in Edmonton.
UBC boasts the top ground attack in the conference, as running back Brandon Deschamps leads Canada West with 431 rushing yards and quarterback Billy Greene ranks second with 407 yards. Greene has also completed 51% of his passes this season for 1038 yards and five touchdowns, with Daniel English (12 receptions, 312 yards) emerging as the team's top receiver.
Vivie Bojilov leads the UBC defence with 27 total tackles and also has a team-high three sacks, while Jake Woodson and Martin Park also have a pair of sacks each. Kareem Ba leads the Thunderbirds with 4.5 tackles for loss.
Rookie kicker Thomas Moult handles placekicking and punting duties for UBC. He's 7-for-8 on field goal attempts this year and averages 33.7 yards per punt.
After this weekend, UBC finishes off the Canada West schedule with a pair of road games. The Thunderbirds will play Manitoba in Week 7 and Saskatchewan in Week 8.

RAMS MILESTONE WATCH
• With four interceptions each, CB Jamir Walker and HB Kirby Kezama both have four interceptions this season and need just one more to tie Walker's school single-season record of five (2010)
• Walker is the U of R's all-time leader and is tied for fourth in Canada West history with 17 career interceptions
• DE Logan Brooks ranks third on the U of R's all-time list with 10½ career sacks – Brooks needs just one sack to overtake Sean Brimacombe for No. 2 and three to pass Stan Van Sichem as the school's career leader
• RB Michael Kiapway needs one more touchdown run to join Adrian Charles and Neal Hughes as the only two U of R players to have five in a single season
• Though he's questionable for this Saturday with an injury, QB Marc Mueller needs three touchdown passes to tie Mark Anderson for No. 2 on the U of R's all-time list
