University of Regina golfer
Reece Kuski pulled out a dramatic win in a playoff to earn top spot at the Cougar Cup Invitational hosted on Monday and Tuesday at Deer Valley Golf Club just outside of Regina.
Kuski was tied for first place through 36 holes after shooting a two-over 146 in tough conditions. That forced him into a two-hole playoff along with Alberta's Kai Baerg, which Kuski won to claim the championship.
The team title was also tightly contested. Alberta took first place with 53 points, with Manitoba coming in second with 59 and Regina just behind with 61 points. The Cougars' B team finished in fourth spot.
Jackson Wingert added a third-place finish for the Cougars with an eight-over 152, while
Hudson Heistad added a top-ten finish in his U of R debut.
Josh Silverson (+28) and
Jordan Heller (+32) rounded out the Cougars' top five scorers.
