Morgan McKay and
Micah Tangjerd were the top golfers for the Regina Cougars at the Calgary Dinos Open on Sunday and Monday at Springbank Links Golf Club.
McKay finished tied for seventh on the women's side, shooting an opening-day 98 but following that up with an 87 in the second round.
Tangjerd opened the tournament with a 79, then followed that up with a 3-over 74 on Monday to also finish in a tie for seventh place in the individual standings.
Jackson Wingert and
Jaxon Eberts both finished tied for 16th at +14, with
Carter Bell just behind in 20th place at +16.
Reece Hodson rounded out the top five in 26th place at 19-over while
Nathan Matechuk (+24),
Reece Kuski (+24),
Luke Wyatt (+25), and
Jacob Lipp (+36) also made the trip.
The Cougars will now get ready to travel to Abbotsford, B.C. for the Canada West Championships. McKay will represent the team on the women's side while Tangjerd, Wingert, Eberts, Bell, and Hodson will make up the men's team.
