The University of Regina's women's volleyball team is back at home for the second consecutive weekend, as the Cougars (0-6) have a pair of tough tests at the CKHS with matches on Friday night (6:00) and Saturday night (5:00) against a UBC Okanagan team that's ranked No. 5 in the nation coming in.

Both matches will be webcast live at

Though the U of R lost twice to Saskatchewan last weekend, third-year libero
Taylor Ungar continues to play stellar defence for the Cougars. She had 15 digs in Friday's match and 12 more on Saturday, giving her 88 for the season and a Canada West-leading average of 4.63 per set. No other player in the conference is averaging more than four digs per set through the first eight weekends of the Canada West schedule.
Â
Last weekend, interim head coach
Shane Smith made his first changes to the starting lineup since the conference schedule started. Veteran middle
Molly Wade-Cummings and outside hitter
Diana Lumbala – who have both missed extended amounts of time this year while recovering from injuries – both drew into the lineup to start Friday's match, while
Leah Sywanyk had a strong game on Friday and was rewarded with her first start as a Cougar on Saturday.
Â
Ashlee Sandiford,
Jenna Krahn, and
Kathleen Bruce lead the Cougars offensively with 39, 38, and 31 kills this season, respectively. Bruce is also the team's leader with 23 blocks, while first-year setter
Kirstin Greve has started all six Canada West matches for the Cougars and has dished out 116 assists while appearing in 17 of the team's 19 sets.
Â
UBC Okanagan was ranked No. 2 heading into last week's matches, but a split with Mount Royal – including a five-set Saturday loss to the Cougars – dropped the Heat three spots in this week's poll.
Â
The Heat's attack features Canada West's leader in hitting percentage, as second-year middle Aidan Lea has 48 kills and is hitting at an impressive .323 clip this year. Siobhan Fitzpatrick and Megan Festival are the team's most utilized weapons, as Fitzpatrick has piled up a team-leading 73 kills and Festival has put down 62. Festival has also given opposing teams fits with the serve – she's racked up 18 aces in 23 sets played this year.
Â
After this weekend, the Cougars will finish up the first half of the Canada West schedule with a pair of road matches against Alberta on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3.
