Andrea (Gottselig) Ward helped the Cougars win two conference titles and make three appearances at the CIAU Championship during her five seasons on campus. She started off her career by being named the CIS Rookie of the Year in 1996 and ended up as a two-time All-Canadian and a four-time selection as a Great Plains Athletic Conference all-star. She also won the Sylvia Sweeney Award as the nation's outstanding student-athlete following the 1999-00 season, her last as a Cougar. Ward, a product of Moose Jaw's Peacock Collegiate, still ranks among the University of Regina's all-time leaders in steals, rebounds, and blocked shots.
