One of the few players in University of Regina women’s basketball history to play in five national championships, Bree Burgess was a critical part of the team’s CIAU Championship in 2001 and also won conference titles in 1999, 2000, and 2001 with the Cougars. She was a three-time Great Plains Athletic Conference all-star and capped her career with first-team All-Canadian and Canada West first-team all-star honours following the 2001-02 season. Burgess finished with 1165 career points and retired as the school’s all-time leader with 180 three-pointers.

She averaged in double figures in scoring in four of her five seasons at the U of R, including the 2001-02 season when she averaged a career-high 15.5 points per game. Burgess graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Education in 2002.
