Corrin Wersta played for the University of Regina’s women’s basketball team from 1996 to 2001 and helped bring home the program’s first national championship during her final season at the U of R. Wersta was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in 1997 following a stellar first season with the Cougars and went on to earn four GPAC first-team all-star selections, two All-Canadian awards, and a Nan Copp Award as the CIAU Player of the Year in 1999. She scored 1265 points in 85 games with the U of R, ending her career with an average of 14.9 points per game.
