Sue Hilton coached the University of Regina’s women’s basketball team from 1971 to 1980. The Cougars enjoyed their first three winning seasons under Hilton, finishing in second place in the Great Plains Athletic Conference in 1976-77, 1977-78, and 1978-79. Hilton emphasized excellence in women’s sport through training, discipline, and hard work and is responsible for increasing the profile and competitiveness of the program. Also an accomplished golfer, Hilton was Canada’s top female amateur during the early 1960s and was inducted to the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame in 2007.
